The Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the European Union are committed to strengthening their relationship under a Cooperation Agreement on Partnership and Development, which entered into force in 2004. Since the start of its cooperation with Pakistan in 1976, the Commission has committed more than €500 million to projects and programmes.
