A private submarine fiber optic cable system in Pakistan, providing International bandwidth services to customers located in Pakistan. Trans World Associates (Pvt) Ltd. (Transworld), a joint venture of Orascom Telecom, Saif Group, and Omzest Group, was setup in the wake of the deregulation of the Pakistani Telecom sector with a mandate to operate the first privately owned submarine fiber optic cable system between Karachi - Pakistan, Muscat - Oman, and Fujairah - UAE. Transworld is the first privately owned Submarine Fiber Optic Cable System between Karachi - Pakistan, Muscat - Oman, and Fujairah - UAE. The system spans over 1300 kms. TW1, as the system is called, commenced operations in 2006. TW1 provides end-to-end direct broadband, high-speed connectivity to the growing number of telecom operators, internet service providers, and corporate customers in Pakistan.
