National Commission on the Status of Women in Pak Directory

 

An initiative of Pakistani Government to overcome obstacles being faced regarding gender equality. Dignity and the status of women and men as equal citizens of Pakistan is a moral imperative, constitutional obligation and a guiding principle of an egalitarian and a progressive society. This requires concerted action by state and society to motivate change and adopt measures to achieve desired goals for the advancement of women. National Commission on the Status of Women endeavors, in partnership with civil society and the government, to overcome obstacles to gender equality. The Commission would promote initiatives for empowerment of women and ensure their fundamental human rights in order to facilitate an environment in which women realize their full potential and participate equally with men to create and sustain a social order envisaged by the enlightened values enshrined in Islam.
